Why is it an iPhone 5S and not an iPhone 6?

Why is everyone referring to the next iPhone as the iPhone 5S? What would make it an iPhone 6?? :p

A different hardware design and significantly upped specs.
The "S" so far has been visually unchanged with a slightly improved camera and some new software feature that half the world doesn't 'get'! (Siri)

I hope to God that they don't called the iPhone next year an iPhone 6. Technically I've already got an iPhone 6 and it'd be silly to call the 8th iPhone the iPhone 6. They should just keep it simple and stick to calling it iPhone and it can be denoted by whatever generation it is. Otherwise the numbers will all get too far out of sync.
