Well, it’s that time of year, dear friends, when we point and laugh at the lifeless idiots who start queuing for the new iPhone before it’s even been announced.
That’s the sitch over in New York, with a handful of punters already queuing outside Apple’s Fifth Avenue store. Heck, I suppose there are worse streets to live on for two weeks.
The iPhone 5S will almost certainly launch tomorrow, with Apple recently firing out invites for a September 10 event.
Reading between the lines, and going by previous iPhone launches, we’re probably looking at September 20 for the actual iPhone 5S release date, which is of course still a good 11 days away.
According to MacRumors’ report from last Friday, there were four people in the Fifth Avenue iPhone 5S queue, including a couple of dudes from Cincinnati’s SellYourMac.
Indeed, the Cincinnatians had hoped to be front of the queue, but were in fact pipped by two randoms.
Of course, if you happen to have a life and/or don't fancy living on the streets for two weeks, you can always pre-order your iPhone 5S and have it delivered on release day.
Incidentally, iPhone 5S pre-orders are tipped to open this coming Friday. Expect to see that shipping time creep to five weeks pretty quick, man.
