iPhone 6 - how to close apps

How do you close an app on the iPhone 6, like not just pressing the Home button to exit but close it properly? And does this save battery life?

Yes, closing apps properly on iPhones can save a bit of battery life - or, um, add some to be precise :p
More importantly, though: stop apps from updating in the background! Do you need notifications for Twitter, Facebook and do you need push email? That's the kind of usage that eats battery life!
Anyhow: to properly close an app in iOS, double click the Home Button. That brings up the app/task switcher. You'll see thumbnails of recently used apps. Swipe them away. Boom. Done.
No harm in rebooting your iPhone once a day, either. It resets the RAM and clears some unnecessary processors etc...
