iPhone 6 vs iPhone 5s

Size aside, is the iPhone 6 much of an upgrade from the iPhone 5s?

Funny you should ask. I had a 5S and I'm currently 'testing' an iPhone 6. The big difference - size aside - to me is the camera. It's a very noticeable upgrade in speed and image quality in almost all conditions. Video is also much improved. Quality of 120/240FPS vids in particular is much better imho.

Size aside: the screen is beautiful - regardless of what you may read about it having fewer pixels than x, y or z... Outdoor visibility even in direct sunlight is great, too - beats the M8 I recently tried by miles.

I also 'think' volume of music player is louder. And call quality improved.
On the bad side: I find the design very, um, ugly. But I'm using the white/silver model, and it's just not my cuppa.
More importantly: I find it's the most slippery device I have ever used. It's really awkward in my relatively average hands. IMHO it should ship with a case like the HTC One M8...
Oh, back to your question: speedwise it beats the iPhone 5S, but not by much, tbh.
Overall: if the size of the 5S is no issue for you, I'd skip the iPhone 6. Or go nuts and get the 6 Plus.
My impression after 3 days: for what the iPhone 6 adds as an upgrade its design is too much of a negative. It feels very very awkward. Too thin, zero grip, awkward button placement.
I use a Lumia 930 and 1520 also - both have bigger screens BUT, oddly, both are less awkward to handle.
That is my 5 cents after 3 days. I may adjust/revise my opinion, but as it stands? For me ergonomics really make it a poor design. Possibly one of the worst devices in that regard I have ever used. That may not matter at all to other people. But I'd urge people to really try before they buy.

Here's a bit I posted yesterday about my two days with the iPhone 6
