iPhone file manager

Is there such a thing as an iPhone file manager app?
Things I want to do are: see how large files are (like pictures), and be able to rename files and search for them.

Would I have to jailbreak?

Yes, you would need to jailbreak to install a file manager on an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch.

Do not fall for apps in the AppStore that come along as 'file manager' or 'USB drive'.... You can only sync files to THAT app via iTunes file sharing. But files synced to those apps are mostly stuck in that app.... A workaround? Yes. Really useful? Not in my opinion.

I'm puzzled, too - Apple hype the camera/media capabilities, but you cannot even search a photo by name, see its size... not to mention edit such attributes. Pathetic, really.
