Is it ok to use an iPod touch with a cracked screen or could it lead to other problems? I have a relatively small crack which doesn't bother me, but am I better getting it fixed?

A crack shouldn't worry you. But I have seen people use phones with bits of the screen glass missing, which exposes all sorts of circuitry ... nasty in the rain.
In fact, the phone of the Chinese lady who recently died from touching her iPhone with wet hands had such a crack that exposed the phone's inner bits...
