They are saying Chinese price between £260-£360 unlocked.

£360 would be awfully close to an almost new iPhone 5... But I guess enough people can be had. I'm looking forward to the 5S and 5C launch. Potential car crash atmosphere?

If the 5S doesn't deliver something 'special' enough to distract from the 4-in screen, the reaction shall be bad indeed. And if the 5C is sub-iPod Touch 5?

People still buy the iPhone 5 for £529 new from Apple mate........ Even though it's going to drop by £100 in a couple of weeks.

I can guarantee the chances of it flopping are small. But i don't see it being the groundbreaking success that Apple would hope it'd be.

Apparently, Europeans are tired of Android => http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/mobile-phones/10280436/Windows-Phone-and-iOS-surge-as-Android-shrinks-in-Europe.html

:p

Trolling.

Anyhoo, you're right, of course. Apple's new phones will sell well. Whatever they are.
And Android fans will hate it etc etc...

And none of that really matters all that much, does it? I'm strangely certain that Apple know they cannot compete with 2,000 Android devices (90% + of which are in the budget range) by churning our a measly 3 or 4 overpriced devices per year... They may be a lot, but mathematically challenged they probably aren't. It's mostly people who'd never think of buying Apple who reckon that was an issue. Marketshare, marketshmare...

Irrelevant.

I do expect Apples marketshare to gradually decline though. Not so much that Apple ever drop out of the top 5. But enough that other manufacturers start being able to compete with them. Samsung is the obvious example to use but i don't think it'll be long before other manufacturers compete with Apple on a similar level.

True. And nothing guarantees Samsung's position, either. Lets not ignore what happened to Nokia and others? It's a fickle market, and in terms of innovation there is some kind of plateau to cross. Currently it's fought via ramped up specs, price and materials used (I.e. the 'feel' - who'd be impressed by a HTC One if it was plastic? Blinfeed? ZOE? LOL)...

But the next cool thing could come from out of nowhere. An awful lot of people were convinced an Apple phone would bomb. Hey, Lord Sugar thought the iPod was a stupid idea and would definitely flop... PC Mag called Android "D.O.A." in 2009.

Samsung fanboys.....

I kid, i kid.

But yeh, the market can change at any time. Who knows, the next big thing may just be these guys- I mean they already have the branding all correct!
