Jelly Bean Android 4.2 arrives for Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 7

Jelly Bean Android 4.2 arrives for Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 7While many Android users are twiddling their thumbs waiting for Jelly Bean Android 4.1, users of the latest Nexus devices are screaming ahead in the update race.

We’re hearing that Jelly Bean Android 4.2 has started rolling out for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, while it’s also available to download for the Asus-built Google Nexus 7.

Starting with the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, a pleasantly surprised chap named Chris Taylor reveals on Google+ that he’s received the Jelly Bean Android 4.2 update OTA (over the air).

Chris is rocking the HSPA+ GSM Samsung Galaxy Nexus, purr-chased directly from Google Play. He appears to be in Canada.

As for the Google Nexus 7, if you’re comfortable doing so, you can manually download the necessary Jelly Bean Android 4.2 files direct from Google. Android Police has some “super-easy” instructions for you.

The Samsung Google Nexus 10 and the LG-built Nexus 4, meanwhile, ship with Jelly Bean Android 4.2 out of the box. Good times.

Key Jelly Bean Android 4.2 features include Photo Sphere which captures 360-degree panoramas, and Gesture Typing.

nice distraction from the disappointing lack of N4s on this the launch day - not to mention the lack of info...

Gives devs something to play with while they wait to be able to buy one anyway..
