Jelly Bean for the Samsung Galaxy SII

There's already a port of Jelly Bean for the Galaxy SII i9100 available from XDA. At the time of writing, many things don't work (including the cell radios, so no phone calls or text messages). Despite that, it does boot up and the touchscreen works fine, so you can feel that Jelly Bean fluidity for yourself, if you so desire.

Link to XDA thread:

As with any custom ROM there are risks that come with flashing it to your device. Neither I, nor, are responsible for any damage you may cause to your device (including but not limited to data loss and permanent hardware "bricking") by performing any modifications. So just how smooth is it?

Don't know, I'm waiting for it to be more functional before I flash it.

Boo, Hiss. Understandable but boring.

Apparently it's currently a bit "funny" with restoring backups, and I don't fancy losing all my data for good and being stuck with a mostly broken version of Jelly Bean as my ROM for several weeks until it's finished and I can flash a working version :p.

Ah didn't realise it wouldn't play fair with backups. Would be a little bit limited atm. Impressive that they are getting somewhere already though.

Although would wiping it, installing ics rom then restoring backup work.
