What kind of rice do you put a wet mobile in?

If your phone gets wet are you supposed to put it in raw or cooked rice??

DRY DRY DRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm assuming you are NOT taking the p*ss?
Cooked rice? That contains water it absorbed while cooking! YOU NEED DRY RICE. Put the phone (as disassembled as possible - battery cover off, sim and sd card out etc...) in a thin sock or cloth (yes, dry). And place the thing in a tupperware/bowl with dry rice. Place the whole shebang in a dry, warm place. DRY!

Shameless self promotion there, Jan ;).

He's right though, OP. Dry, uncooked rice...wet rice will make your phone worse, not better. As for what type of rice, any brand/style is fine. If you can get your hands on some silica gel beads, they're even more effective than rice.

Some stores here now sell a wet phone bag. It's like a jiffy bag with a silica lining. You pop the phone in overnight, and presto!

Will find out what brand they are ;)

And PS: always assume that your phone will eventually die, even IF the rice seems to do "the trick"!!!

Damage can creep up on your device after weeks! So back up all your content and start saving for that new phone! And no, repair shops generally don't touch a water damaged phone.
