Is the iPad's lack of Flash a problem when browsing? I'm not sure, for example, what percentage of sites actually use Flash.

If it has a video, it's probably flash. How many of these sites can fall back to HTML5 is a different matter entirely...

Actually, it's no biggie. A surprising number of sites with video have adapted to the iPad and iPhone - they represent a huge slice of the websurfing populace. There's also quite the number of apps that can handle videos that Safari cannot handle - Downloader is one of them. To be honest though: I'm not a fan of Android's oh-so-great Flash capable browser. Even on the Samsung Galaxy Note or HTC's One X (2 of the more powerful Android handsets) I was not overly impressed by flash playback within the browser.
