Latest Motorola X Phone rumours: rugged as hell but no personalisation

Latest Motorola X Phone rumours: rugged as hell but no personalisationGather round, one and all, for the latest instalment of crazy Motorola X Phone rumours. And this time we're being told to forget all that personalisation malarkey and set ourselves for some of the most premium specs the smartphone world has ever seen.

2GHz Snapdragon 800 processor? Wham. Sapphire Glass screen? Bam. 4,000mAh battery? Kerpow. One of Phone Arena's legion of unnamed tipsters has claimed the Motorola X Phone will have all of the above and more, as the Google-owned Moto seeks to make a serious splash with its first fully fledged release under Mountain View ownership.

On the subject of splashes, the tipster reckons the X Phone will be a bit of a rugged campaigner, with that sapphire glass screen said to be three times harder to crack than Gorilla Glass.

It'll be water resistant too, and rubber bumpers on the corners will deliver shock-proofing. The screen itself is said to be a 4.8-incher (no resolution is given), while the 2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor inside is more than a match for anything currently on the market (though by November that may well have changed).

Lastly, an insane 4,000mAh battery should give you all the power you could ever need, though its size plus the other physical attributes suggest a handset that will be neither slender nor lightweight.

But wait! There's more. Over on GSMArena a separate story has appeared suggesting it'll be a 4.7in display and tossing in the rather nice-looking image render at the top of the page.

So what of the whole Porsche Exclusive-style customisation thing? Neither source makes any mention of it, so it leaves things more up in the air than ever.

Maybe there will be personalisation, maybe there won't. For that matter, maybe the Motorola X Phone doesn't exist at all...

Nothing like the Vivaz...
In fact, it looks utterly photoshopped. What with the absent bezel (?), weird reflections etc....

Blimey.
Well here: it looks FAKE. A design study accomplished by whatever means.
I may be wrong, of course. In which case I'll buy a copy of "geek for dummies".

Why do people bother reading and even writing articles like this? Clearly the next google phone will just be very similar to the existing nexus 4 but with 4g capabilities.

The Moto X IS NOT a Nexus device.
