The Google Nexus 5 launch clearly didn’t go down last week as was widely predicted, and while we patiently await the phone’s official arrival, we’re getting more in the way of leaks and what not.
For starters, the Google Nexus 5 box has popped up showing the phone in white for the first time, while a second source says we shouldn’t expect the rumoured 3,000mAh variant.
Looking at the Google Nexus 5 box firstly, the images have in fact been removed from the source (UNDERkg.com), but that obviously can’t stop them doing the rounds on ye olde cyberweb. Head over to Google+ (1, 2) if you fancy.
Specifically, the white Google Nexus 5 appears to have a white rear, though the front and sides are still black. The white Google Nexus 4 had more in the way of, well, white.
You might remember, too, that the Google Nexus 5 has been rumoured to come in two battery sizes, specifically 2,300mAh and 3,000mAh. The story was that the 16GB model would have the smaller battery, while the 32GB Google Nexus 5 would have the larger.
Alas, an informant of Italian-language TuttoAndroid says the Google Nexus 5 will have a 2,300mAh battery – regardless of storage.
Of course, both of these stories could be nonsense. In any case, it’s looking like Halloween for the Google Nexus 5 launch. Maybe. Possibly.
