HP is already basking in the most attention its had for a fair while thanks to the well-regarded webOS-powered TouchPad tablet, which goes on sale here in the UK later this month.
But there could be an upgraded model not far behind, if a leaked HP presentation is to be believed, boasting improved performance and more on-board storage.
PreCentral claims to have received “a confidential HP product brief” containing details of the company's webOS-related plans for the remainder of the year, and it contains a couple of surprises.
The most interesting piece of info is news of a white TouchPad being lined up to launch as soon as next month, featuring an updated spec and 64GB of storage on board. The revamped slate will reportedly have a new processor on board, which PreCentral reckons could be a 1.5GHz Snapdragon.
Lined up for the autumn is the Pre3 smartphone and the mysterious Opal tablet, the 7in slate we heard rumour about last week. In terms of the Pre3, PreCentral notes that the autumn launch is likely to refer specifically to the US market, so talk of a “late summer” European launch isn't necessarily wide of the mark.
We wonder how much real difference there is between one man's “late summer” and another's “autumn”, anyway...
