Is a leather Smart Cover worth the extra money?

A leather Smart Cover is £59 compared to the £35 Polyurethane Smart Cover. Has anyone used both?

There are cows killed specifically for their leather, they're raised in barns with no sharp corners so their skin is in perfect condition. Slaughtered meat cows are not used for high quality leather, their skin isn't in "good enough" condition.

I've only ever seen the plastic one in real life but as far as I could tell the iPad inside didn't feel like it needed the small amount of extra protection leather would give it, it felt (and looked) pretty good as it was :).

Agree. And we kill enough animals for nonsense. Now for smartcovers? Pah...

True, there's no need for a cow to be killed so someone can have a more expensive cover on their iPad (especially one that adds little to no new functionality or protection). I hit a rabbit with my car the other day, I felt terrible for the poor little thing :(.

*cool story bro* (before anyone else has the distaste to say it).

Would think the leather more of a by product.

Apple say the colours might rub off from leather covers so I'd leave those alone.
