Can you leave a mobile phone charger plugged in 24/7?

I tend to leave my mobile charger plugged in 24/7, flicked on at the wall, and just attach my phone as and when necessary.

Is that a bad idea? Is it unsafe? Am I wasting electricity?

You're wasting electricity!
Although it's almost definitely less than £1.50 worth every year. As that assumes it's using 1W of power but most newer chargers will use closer to 0.

Don't see why it'd be unsafe.

I've done that with my phone charger (and various other device chargers) ever since I started buying products with rechargeable batteries way back when. I've never come to any harm, so I feel relatively confident saying it's an okay thing to do.

As for wasting electricity, it's such a small amount that it's almost entirely irrelevant.
