Last week an anonymous tipster teased Engadget with news of an imminent 10.1in quad-core Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) tablet from Chinese manufacturer Lenovo. Sounds good to us.
Now that same tipster is back, and this time he – or perhaps she – is spilling the juice on a 5in device called the Lenovo IdeaTab. Is it a smartphone? Is it a tablet? We’re not sure.
The tipster was unable to provide much in terms of specs, other than the mention of a dual-core processor, and the fact that some unspecified iteration of Android will take the helm. Vague indeed.
However, there’s a series of pics to ponder, revealing a micro-USB port, HDMI output, a front-facing camera, and possibly three capacitive buttons.
There’s also what appears to be an earpiece next to the front-facing camera, though the source was unable to confirm if the Lenovo IdeaTab will support voice calls (like the 5.3in Samsung Galaxy Note), or if it’ll simply be a mini tablet.
Interesting. We’re sure the anonymous chap – or chapess – will be back with more info in due course. Stay tuned.
