Has Lenovo ever had a smartphone picked up by a UK network?
Surprised to see Lenovo in the top five smartphone manufacturers, but China is a big place or so I hear

No, I don't know of any network that ever sold a Lenovo phone. Can't even remember the likes of Expansys to ever have stocked any...

5 of the top 10 manufacturers worldwide are from China.
A good example are Xiaomi. 97% of Xiaomi's shipments are sold in China yet they are the 6th biggest manufacturer worldwide based on global smartphone shipments. 1/3rd of all the smartphones sold in 2013 were sold in China so it's a very big market and it's easy to see why Lenovo are doing well. 85% of Lenovo's smartphone shipments are to China alone and in the last fiscal year they shipped over 50 million smartphones worldwide which makes them the 5th biggest manufacturer of smartphones globally.
Lenovo are very big in China as mentioned above but they have expanded into other markets such as Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America and Russia. They don't have much of a presence in Western Europe or North America and that is where Motorola will come in. So no, Lenovo don't ship their phones in the UK and I don't expect that to change any time soon after the Motorola acquisition.
