Lenovo unleashes 6in Quad HD Vibe Z2 Pro flagship

Lenovo unleashes 6in Quad HD Vibe Z2 Pro flagshipLenovo was one of the top five smartphone players in the world last year, it now owns Motorola and will supposedly have released 60 new phones in 2014 by year end.

So where are they? Well here's one, and it's a big one too: the Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro flagship, which will spearhead the Chinese electronics giant's mobile assault over the second half of the year.

The hero feature on board the Vibe Z2 Pro is undoubtedly the Quad HD display, which is still enough of a novelty to get us excited.

And despite the 6in screen size, the combination of super-slim bezels, neat metal construction and a 7.7mm profile combine to make the Vibe Z2 Pro look surprisingly sleek.

On the inside is your typical Android flagship fare circa mid-2014, including a Snapdragon 801 processor running at 2.5GHz, 3GB of RAM and a 16MP camera featuring optical image stabilisation and 4K video recording.

Impressively, Lenovo has found room for a massive 4000mAh battery inside the Vibe Z2 Pro, which should be more than up to the task of juggling the needs of all those high-end components.

Lenovo says the Vibe Z2 Pro phablet will be available in September, but has yet to clarify exactly where and for how much. But it has dished up a glitzy 90-second run-through of the Vibe Z2 Pro's best bits, complete with generic dancefloor foot-tapper for you to bop along to.

Too big... Lovin the Lumia 1520, but I'd never consider it as a real on-the-go kinda device.
And the big bunch is just too awkward for photography, too, imho... Z1 and 1520 never feel right in the hand/s to take that quick shot.

But, hey. The more the merrier.

I've been looking at Lenovo handsets on Amazon et al. Some of their phones look really good for the money (all be it mostly mid-range specs). But still, at around £130 for an S3 equivalent phone they are well worth a punt, especially if you can get one 'fulfilled by Amazon'.
