We heard earlier this week that LG was bringing its G3 UX (user experience) to more smartphones in the second half of the year, but we didn’t expect to meet these new guys so soon, or for them to be so, well, modest.
The two latest members of the popular L Series are the L Bello and L Fino, focusing squarely on “growing 3G markets” and with decidedly entry-level specs.
For those unfamiliar with LG’s L Series, it debuted back at Mobile World Congress 2012, and essentially offers wallet-friendly alternatives to the flagship G models.
Indeed, the LG L Bello and L Fino couldn’t be much further away from the likes of the LG G3 LTE-A, though there’s obviously more to the smartphone market than just wallet-sapping flagships.
LG L Fino specs include a 4.5in 480 x 800 display (207PPI), quad-core 1.2GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, 4GB internal storage, an 8MP rear camera, VGA front shooter, and 1,900mAh battery. Colours are white, black, gold, red and green (varies by market).
Meanwhile, the LG L Bello offers a 5in 480 x 854 display (196PPI), quad-core 1.3GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB internal storage, an 8MP rear camera with autofocus, 1MP front shooter, and 2,540mAh battery. Colours are white, black and gold.
Getting back to the aforementioned G3 UX, the LG L Fino and L Bello come with Touch & Shoot (focus and shoot in one tap), Gesture Shot (make a fist to start a 3-second selfie countdown), and Knock Code (tap a personalised knock pattern to unlock).
LG doesn’t care to specify L Bello or L Fino price, saying only that the phones will hit up 3G markets in Latin America this month, with Europe, Asia and CIS “to follow”.
