LG G Flex SIM free price: £689.95

LG G Flex SIM free price: £689.95The LG G Flex was first unveiled at the end of October, and while there was no specific mention of the UK at that time, we kinda half expected the phone to make an appearance eventually.

Carphone Warehouse has now confirmed various LG G Flex prices, including a price tag of £689.95 for the SIM free model. There are no words.

The retailer doesn’t specify an LG G Flex release date, but EE has already said it’ll offer the curvaceous phone from February.

LG G Flex contract prices are predictably all over the shop (you can go right down to £16.99PM and pay £449 up front), but Carphone Warehouse’s “Best Value” offering comes in at £79 for the handset and £52PM (a whopping £1,327 total), with unlimited texts and minutes, and 5GB of O2 4G per month.

Upgraders get a slightly better deal. The “Best Free Phone Deal” for the LG G Flex in particular comes in at £42PM (£1,008 total), with unlimited texts and minutes, and 2GB of O2 4G data per month.

Standout LG G Flex features include a curved 6in 720p display (it can be pushed flat with a fair bit of pressure), and a “Self Healing” rear that promises to banish everyday nicks.

Other LG G Flex specs include a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB internal storage, a 3,500mAh battery, 13MP rear camera, and Jelly Bean Android 4.2.2.

Ironically, I just posted a deal for the LG G2 flagship at less than half the price.

You might want to hold off buying until the the display issues have been clarified.

I doubt it'll be flying off the shelves anyway with a price tag of nearly 700 quid haha :p.

Yep, crazy isn't it.

"I don't understand what so special about this phone."

It's curved. That's it.

Sad really.

LG Mobile could well be next, they do well enough in Korea (bigger market share and install base than Apple) but outside of Korea, they're largely irrelevant.

You're right, certainly here in the UK you rarely see people carrying an LG phone. You see the odd Nexus 4/5, but they don't really count seeing as LG was acting for Google kind of like Foxconn does for Apple, more than as a manufacturer in their own right.

Being curved doesn't warrant a ~£700 price tag, something LG are about to find out the hard way...

Not sure it'll land with that price, besides sim free prices are often way out there.

And well it's not quite just that it's curved. I like that the flex means that the screen is less prone to cracking I wouldn't mind seeing it as a feature in the nexus 6.

Alright I quite like the idea of flattening it and watching it spring back. Nipping in cpw each time I'm in town and flex them, seeing how long they last.
