Is the LG G3 the best phone you can buy at present?

Is the LG G3 the best phone on the market? I like the display size and obviously it's QHD. Is there anything with better specs?

The 'best' phone is based on each individuals needs and opinions I'd say rather than which has the biggest this or the highest that.

"best Android phone", you mean?

No, specs wise, the Galaxy S5 LTE-A (which has to be imported into the UK as it's not sold here) is the best phone I know of. It has an 805 SoC whereas the G3 "only" has an 801. Both have QHD displays and 3GB of RAM. However, the display is bigger on the G3, though that does lower the display PPI, not that you'd be able to tell. The S5 LTE-A also has a fingerprint scanner and heart rate monitor (the same as the normal S5), whilst the G3 has neither.

That all said, between the two, I'd take the G3 for the better design and the larger display.

Well said...
And I think we can all agree we're at a point where on-paper specs have reached a realm without relevance for everyday user experience. 64bit, 3GB RAM... god-knows-what-and-how-many processors etc etc... Screens with resolutions and pixel density that require
microscopes to test... A £70 phone can play GTA San Andreas... And as powerful as current Android flagships are, they cannot get Garageband. No matter how powerful the Lumia 1520 is - you cannot send a simple tweet without feeling like it's 2011...

My personal favourite Android app is Snapseed. The Powerhouse One M8 I currently 'trial' cannot use it properly. Crashes, freezes etc... FOR MY PERSONAL experience that makes the
One M8 a bad phone. Other people's experiences and test scores and on-paper-specs are totally irrelevant. A vegan doesn't care about other people's big tasty Wiener ;) :p
