LG G3 wireless charging

How does "wireless charging" work on phones like the LG G3?
There must still be wires involved somewhere, right? :p

True. Instead of plugging in the phone, you plug in the charging pad.
More waste, MORE wires, and wasted space within the phone - that still needs the normal charging hardware... I see no point, whatsoever.

As to the actual technoogy: Inductive charging is the more accurate term. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inductive_charging
