Lucky Goldstar and US carrier Sprint have lifted the lid on the LG Marquee, essentially an LG Optimus Black variant for out transatlantic cousins.
There’s some sort of fashion tie-in or something. The LG Marquee apparently “Celebrates the Perfect Combination of Signature Style and Cutting-Edge Technology During New York Fashion Week”. Er, ok.
The LG Optimus Black first broke cover back in January, but it was completely overshadowed by the LG Optimus 2X (world’s first dual-core smartphone) and LG Optimus 3D (world’s first autostereoscopic smartphone).
The LG Marquee has similar specs, namely a 4in NOVA display which laughs in the sun's face, 5MP/2MP rear/front cameras, a 1GHz processor, and Android 2.3 (Gingerbread).
“LG believes fashion and technology go hand-in-hand among today’s growing contingent of style-conscious and tech-savvy consumers,” said Tim O’Brien, vice president of marketing for LG Mobile.
If you say so, Tim.
