Having now ditched the notion of an Amazon smartphone and hopefully the iPad mini (no October 10 press invites after all?), the rumour mill continues to spin with stories of an LG Nexus handset.
Here we’re calling it the LG Nexus 4 (as opposed to LG Optimus Nexus), and it’s tipped for launch a couple of days before Halloween. Yep, that’s October 29.
That’s the story according to French site Le Figaro. Incidentally, I was first in my year at French. Just saying. Le Figaro, incidentally, is French for 'The Figaro'.
Where were we? Le Figaro hears that the LG Nexus 4 will launch on October 29, with a French release following in early December.
The LG Nexus 4 – as the name suggests – would be the fourth Nexus smartphone, following the HTC-built Google Nexus One, Samsung-developed Google Nexus S, and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.
The Frenchies reiterate expected LG Nexus 4 specs, including an 8MP camera and quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor. There’s also mention of Nokia Lumia 920-style wireless charging.
The LG Nexus 4 is based on the impressive sounding LG Optimus G, and is expected to arrive with slightly different aesthetics, looking more like the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.
Yesterday I was saying that the LG Nexus 4 had been benchmarked under the codename Mako, which ties in with Nexus devices having fishy codenames. Très intéressant.
