We're running out of original ways of writing the same story. You know the one: product X, which we were originally promised on unrealistic date 1, and was then shifted to unrealistic date 2, will now no longer arrive on what we shall now call unrealistic date 3.
In this case product X is the LG Optimus 3D, and the dates in question are March, May and June. But things are looking good for July. Really.
To be totally fair, LG itself never promised the Optimus 3D in March – even coming out to politely correct those who did make that claim. But it did promise it for May, and then June once May was clearly not going to happen.
Now we have online retailers Play and Clove saying the 3D-tastic smartphone will only be with us in mid-July (the 12th and 11th respectively, to be precise).
That will be just about a full five months after we first held one in our hands – a veritable age in smartphone terms. In fact, LG is lucky that none of the other 3D rivals we're starting to see popping up have a clear path laid out for a UK launch, or the world's first 3D smartphone could have been facing the embarrassment of being beaten to the post.
