We first heard about the LG Optimus Big at the end of March, and it officially launches on Korea’s LG U+ network this week. Technically it should really be called the LG Optimus Big Black. Allow me to explain.
The LG Optimus Big is essentially a larger LG Optimus Black. The former takes the latter’s 4in display and stretches it to 4.3in. Otherwise, it’s pretty much the same phone.
Koreans who pick up the LG Optimus Big this week can look forward to a 5MP auto-focus camera, 1GHz processor, 16GB of memory and a 1,500mAh battery.
Somewhat rubbishly (yes, that’s a word), the LG Optimus Big launches with Froyo (Android 2.2).
No word on a release outside of Korea, but we won’t hold our breath. That’d just be silly.
