LG Optimus L7 lands in Europe

LG Optimus L7 lands in EuropeWhile the entire smartphone-loving world had its eyes firmly focused on London for the Samsung Galaxy S III announcement yesterday, LG decided to make a cheeky announcement of its own. Good timing, LG. Good timing.

Anyways, hold on to your pants, boy, as the LG Optimus L7 is now available in Europe. Huz…zah?

Not to be confused with the Windows Phone-rocking LG Optimus 7, the LG Optimus L7 was officially unveiled at Mobile World Congress alongside the Optimus L3 and L5.

As the numbering perhaps suggests, the LG Optimus L7 boasts the loftiest specs of the trio, however it’s still fairly modest compared to some of the other beasts we’ve met recently, including LG’s own quad-core Optimus 4X HD.

LG Optimus L7 specs include a 4.3in display, 1GHz processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB internal storage and a 5MP camera. Oh, and it appears to be the first LG handset with Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0).

Expansys is taking pre-orders for the LG Optimus L7, though the retailer hasn’t specified a release date just yet. Price? How does £249.99 sound?

Sounds a bit dear tbh, especially if that's single core 1Ghz.

It's running Cortex-A5, any clue how does that compare to Cortex-A9 in real world?

This is one of those devices destined to only sell about 4 units in all of its life span.

Then it's better be very cheap. £250 can land you a middle end Samsung.

You can get a Galaxy W for around that money (the model down from the S2). Or you can get a used S2 (with a minimum 1 year of warranty, depending on when the phone was purchased, as long as you can get proof of original purchase from the seller) for less than £50 more.
