If you were LG (or indeed any other Android OEM!)...

... instead of investing time and money in silly features, wouldn't you simply go with stock Android with the promise of timely updates? Just a thought! I mean, who really cares about stupid features anyway?

I can see that, you can see that, the Android OEMs seem to struggle to see that.

I guess they feel they need something to stand out?
One flat piece of tech with a screen on the front looks like every other piece... Okay, a button here or there. But basically the same.
But I remember in the first HTC's e.g. It was possible to disable Sense. So, it was basically an add on like Go launcher or LP...
In fairness: remember how f*cking ugly vanilla Donut was! They had good cause to make it prettier.
But I agree. These days stock Android UI is preferrable to most overlays.
It'd be interesting nonetheless to see reviewers struggle when every single phone they write about looks the same in screenshots that accompany their "articles"! (That is one of the problems faced by WP OEMs - no distinction.)

True although the first to do it would stand out from other manufacturers though not from nexus range. But just having micro SD would be enough distinction for some from nexus, mind you in itself that might require some programming.
