LG Pecan: Orange’s new affordable Android offer

LG Pecan: Orange’s new affordable Android offerA brand new handset, the LG Pecan, has popped up on the Orange Shop online. It’s not available yet, but it appears in the PAYG section. The specs suggest it’ll be an affordable mid-range type of guy.

Orange introduces the LG Pecan as “a worthy addition to the burgeoning LG family”. It’ll run Android 2.2, with a 3.15MP camera, 3G and HSDPA support, an FM radio and mp3 player.

Korean site ET News reckons the LG Pecan might also support NFC (Near Field Communication). The technology allows contactless payment. Everything Everywhere (Orange and T-Mobile) recently announced its plans to work with Barclaycard to provide an NFC service.

With the LG Pecan already revealed online, an appearance at next week’s Mobile World Congress seems likely.
