LG prepping D1L, 4.7in Galaxy S III puncher

LG prepping D1L, 4.7in Galaxy S III puncherWe reckon Samsung’s rivals must be pooing their pants just a little at the prospect of the quad-core Galaxy S III. Chances are it’ll be one of the phones of the year.

LG, for one, is said to be fortifying its defenses, with a spanking new flagship codenamed the D1L.

At Mobile World Congress in February, LG revealed the Optimus 3D Max (meh), Optimus Vu (meh), and the quad-core Optimus 4X (hmm). Oh, and those three L-Style thingies.

The South Korean manufacturer is said to be unhappy with its current flagship effort, and hopes to give the Samsung Galaxy S III a run for its money with this LG D1L.

Rumoured LG D1L specs at the moment include a 4.7in display (1280 x 720), 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, and Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0).

According to DDaily’s sources, the D1L (which will presumably be called the LG Optimus something-or-other) will arrive in May. Is Samsung bothered? We doubt it.

Not to be flippant, but I haven't seen anyone with an LG phone since the Viewty. In fact, I still see folks with Viewties.
Where are they selling?

Maybe it wasn't such a good strategy to try and beat the iPhone initially with overpriced featurephones? Or 3D? Or WP?

I'm wondering what will the DIL do?

I'm wondering what will the DIL do?

Shades of Huawei's D1Q and P1S.

I noticed on ur-mobile.com that the S3 is now due for launch in mid June. Can't wait to get one.
