It's not being cruel to say that LG failed to set the world alight with its first 3D phone last year. The LG Optimus 3D looked great on paper, but left so much to be desired in the flesh.
Built like a brick and with a battery that gave you half an hour if you were lucky, it's little wonder few of us opted for one.
But it's always worth a second try, and here it is: The LG Optimus 3D 2. Imaginative title, huh? It was leaked last month with a few renders and now we have a photo to drool over instead.
The main thing you notice is its slimmer. The original Optimus 3D was huge and definitely far from svelte. It's been on a diet since though and now comes in at just 9.8mm thick with 20g shaved off the scales too.
The screen - which was already pretty nice - has apparently been upped to a higher resolution IPS 4.3-inch display and will be powered by a beefy 1.2GHz processor. You'll also have the obvious features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, DLNA and HSPA.
No word yet on battery size which will be a major plus if LG can nail it this time. Also, if they can make the 3D less of a gimmick and something that flows through the veins of the phone, we may be in for a treat.
At least, by the looks of things, it'll be available in white too. A white phone. Who'd have thought?
