LG’s plan is clearly to hog – or attempt to hog – the limelight with a series of teasers as we head into this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC).
Yesterday, I was saying that LG had promised four categories of device for MWC, namely Style (L-Series II), Greatness (LG Optimus G Pro), View and Freedom.
While View almost certainly means some sort of LG Optimus Vu, the Freedom category had us baffled.
Enter: the LG Optimus F5 and F7, two more phones with ridiculous names adopting seemingly arbitrary numbers. Don’t get me started.
LG Optimus F5 specs include a 4.3in IPS display, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB internal storage (with microSD), 5MP rear camera, 1.3MP front webcam, and 2,150mAh battery.
Not impressed? The LG Optimus F7 is slightly higher up the spec ladder, with a 4.7in IPS display, 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 2GB of RAM, same storage as the Optimus F5, an 8MP/1.3MP camera combo, and 2,540mAh battery.
Both the LG Optimus F5 and F7 rock Jelly Bean (Android 4.1.2), with 4G LTE connectivity.
Exact pricing and release dates are unknown, though we’re told that Europe will see the LG Optimus F5 and F7 first, and they will – of course – be in attendance at MWC next week.
