LG has lifted the lid on a brand new QWERTY-rocking smartphone, namely the Optimus Q2. Is it just us, or does it sound like it really should’ve been released back in April-June?
This new chap is, of course, the successor to the LG Optimus Q (LU2300). Not exactly inspired naming there from the South Koreans, but whatever.
The LG Optimus Q2 will be – as you’d expect – thinner and lighter than its predecessor. It has reportedly shed around a tenth of an inch in thickness and 10g of chub.
Specs? You’re looking at a 4in display (that’s a stretch of 0.5in), 1.2GHz Tegra 2 processor, 5MP camera, and Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) on OS duties. The sliding four-row keyboard looks pretty sweet.
Lucky Goldstar is expected to launch the Optimus Q2 in its native South Korea as early as next week. No word on a European release just yet, but don't hold your breath. You'll probably die.
