A mysterious tablet with model number LG V510 popped up recently, thanks to the Bluetooth Special Interest Group regulatory body, though not a great deal was known about the device. Until now.
Fast-forward a bunch of weeks, and we’re told the LG V510 is in fact an LG-built Google Nexus 8. Say what?
That’s the story from twitter-based leakster @evleaks, a generally pretty reliable source for all things mobile.
Specifically, the tweet reads: “The LG V510 tablet is indeed a Nexus device. [via tip]”, with an accompanying image throwing in some low-level blurb.
LG has of course partnered directly with Google for the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 smartphones, and rumour has it the South Koreans will churn out next year’s Google Nexus 7, much to the chagrin of Asus.
Interestingly, LG V500 is the model number for the recent LG G Pad 8.3, so the LG V510 could be a Nexus take on that particular tablet, with a view to punching the iPad mini Retina in the chops.
More on the Google Nexus 8/LG V510 just as soon as we hear it.
