How long does a Three bolt-on last?

When you add a Three bolt-on does it last for 30 days, or only until the end of your "billing cycle"? The way they work is quite confusing sometimes and it's hard to get a straight forward answer from the foreign customer service :|

30 days from the billing cycle. If you purchased/upgraded your contract before March 2014.

30 days from when you buy if you purchased/upgraded your contract after March 2014.

*This is for minutes/texts/data based add ons for UK.
*International add ons are different.
