How long does your new iPad take to charge?

I've noticed that my new iPad seems to take ages to charge. Not sure how long as I usually end up leaving it over night! Has anyone else noticed this?

Mine does the same, took 8 hours to go from dead to 70%, then had to unplug it because I was at work. I was using the out of the box charger it came with, not the iPhone charger.

Same here!! I'm sure it must be a fault?! I know they need much bigger batteries than the old versions, but this is an extremely long charging time compared to other stuff!

I've had similar results. Charging from 0-58% took 6 hours, and over 11 hours to do a 100% charge. I took it to Apple and complained and they gave me a new one. This one is charging at a rate that would equal 7.3 hours for a 100% charge...though I haven't actually drained it and recharged it yet.

I took 6hrs to charge from 28% to 95%. Ridiculous long.

Apparently I had a defective charger. I then discovered that the iPad 2 charger is NOT identical to the iPad 3 charger. Here's what I found:

Defective charger - 6 hrs to charge 58%, 11+ hrs for 100% (essentially this is behaving like a 5W charger)
iPad 2 charger - 7+ hrs to charge 100%
iPad 3 charger - 6 hrs to charge 100%

Supposedly the iPad 3 charger is identical to the iPad 2 charger. Both are rated at 10W, but in my experience they are not the same.

Mine goes from zero to 100% in 14 hours. Another problem is when using the iPad while charging, it can't keep up with simple use, it's plugged in, and charging, but just by browsing Facebook, and checking emails, it drains faster than it charges..I miss my iPad 2

My new ipad4 is also taking over 11 hours to charge from 0% to 100% and that's with the ipad turned off. I went ahead an ordered another 12 watt charger to see if that's the problem. Hope that resolves the problem, if not that's $20 for nothing.
