How long does Tesco Mobile credit last for?

Does Tesco Mobile credit last a month or indefinitely?

Bonus credit only lasts a month, but the core top-up lasts indefinitely and is used last.

An example might clear this up:
You top-up £10 and Tesco triples it to £30. Any phone calls/ texts you make are taken off the extra £20 Tesco gave you first. You only end up spending £15 on calls and texts within 30 days, at which point your amount of credit goes to the original £10 you topped-up by.

AFAIK, a network can disconnect your number (only on PAYG), if a charge isn't made against the "account" in 180 days (6 months).

Yes. Matt is right.
It's outrageous, but apparently it is "legal" o_O
It's annoying if you keep a backup sim for emergencies or for an old phone you only use in emergencies.
In Ireland they kill your prepay sim altogether if you don't use it for 6 months - regardless of how much "credit" you accummulated on it. All gone. Even bl**dy banks can't do that. Pah...

It is a pretty cheap trick, my mum used to keep a cheap phone in the glovebox of her car in case of emergency's, one day she tried to use it and found Virgin Mobile had cancelled the SIM and taken all the credit, bast*rds. Luckily, it wasn't a serious situation in which she needed to use a phone.

Yep, happened to us a few times. In fairness, I have dozens of sims hahahah...
But seriously, that. Shouldn't be allowed. While at the same time they brag about their high customer numbers in the full knowledge that many have multiple accounts.
I think Ireland has something like 2.5 accounts for every man, woman, child, sheep and banker...
