How long does it take to unlock a phone in a shop?

If I take my HTC Desire to a shop to get unlocked, how long would it take? I don't really want to leave my phone with them LOL!

Most private stores do official unlocks now. About 10 minutes.

Shouldn't take longer than an hour or so... HTC Desire's been around forever.
I recently rooted, unlocked and flashed unbranded ROM on Samsung Galaxy SII - all in all under 30 mins (okay, not counting time it takes to download the rom and apps to do it)

But if the shop doesn't have many jobs lined up ahead of yours, you might be able to wait while they do it.

HTC Desire can be unlocked with script run from computer with phone plugged in. If person knows what he is doing (unlocked desire before) I would say 5 minutes? Otherwise, could be an hour or more. Takes me over an hour to do first unlock on Android. Afterwards, I have all necessary files ready, drivers installed and necessary updates - it's very trivial.
