Will I lose everything if my iPhone 4 goes for repair?

If my iPhone 4 is sent away for screen repair will they restore it so they can get into it and test it properly?

Yep, back up your iPhone 4 before you send it away, because no matter what they fix, they will, routinely, reflash the OS to exclude any software bugs from their checklist. Same goes for all phones, not just Apple's ;)

It's not a dead cert as they can access the debug menu without having to reset the device but it's better to be safe than sorry.

happened to me last year. Only restoring via iTunes helped - that is, upgrading to latest firmware.

I find tinyumbrella is not the most reliable emergency plan.
Why not upgrade and then rejailbreak with Absinthe? Absinthe is pretty straightforward.

PS how did you jailbreak? Usually, if one follows the instructions and uses the right software, jailbreaking is fairly foolproof.
