Last year Lewis labelled the then-upcoming ZTE Grand X as having the “Most Grandiose Smartphone Name of All Time” – which was a fair call at the time.
Now, though, there's the ZTE Grand X Quad, a name four times as grandiose, which is the title that goes with this couple of product shots leaked by @evleaks.
Curiously, and despite the bombastic name, it seems the Grand X Quad has already been available in China for a few weeks now, even though nobody in the West seems to have picked up on it largely thanks to the complete lack of publicity that seems to have accompanied the Android 4.1.2 handset's release.
So effectively, the @evleaks images are far from a leak in reality. As far as the specs go, however, it's another decent mid-ranger from ZTE: a 5in 720p display, quad-core 1.2GHz processor, 8MP camera, dual-SIM support (which probably wouldn't be a feature on any version of the Grand X Quad that hit the UK), and a decent removable 2,500mAh battery.
Whether the Grand X Quad will actually go international, and more specifically come to these shores, remains to be seen. It probably will, but we'd be surprised if it landed before Q3.
