Samsung UK looks set to give its Galaxy S4 flagship a spec boost by bringing it into line with the LTE-Advanced-capable Snapdragon 800 version introduced in South Korea a few months back.
Sadly those LTE-A capabilities will go unused on local networks, but the processor bump will bring the Galaxy S4 into line with other high-end smartphones released recently, including Samsung's own Galaxy Note 3.
The current Galaxy S4 features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 clocked at 1.9GHz. It's a quad-core CPU and speedy enough in its own right, but isn't on a par with the newer Snapdragon 800 found on more recent releases.
Which is why Samsung upgraded the S4 in Korea to the 800, throwing in LTE-A abilities too. We wondered when it was announced back in June whether we'd be seeing the upgraded model here in the West, and now it seems the answer is a Yes.
The new and improved Galaxy S4 has been spotted on Samsung Germany's site, where it's been listed in White Frost and Black Mist colours. In terms of official confirmation, all we've got is a press release in Swedish.
If you're really keen, MobileFun will take your pre-order for an uprated Galaxy S4 and is listing a £649.99 price tag. But there's no release date listed, and we're not sure how accurate that price is.
We'll let you know more once we do.
