We’re wondering if these iPad mini rumours will ever go away. I mean, if it isn’t launched this month, will the rumour mill simply propose November? Then December? Then January? Or maybe the iPad mini will come to fruition in a couple of weeks. Hmm.
In any case, we’re hearing that Apple’s Asian friends have started mass production of “a new tablet computer smaller than the current iPad”. Read: iPad mini.
That’s the story according to the Wall Street Journalists, who credit anonymous “people with knowledge of the situation”.
Two of those knowledgeable people reckon the iPad mini will have a 7.85in display. To be fair, my mum could probably tell you that it’s expected to have a 7.85in display, and she thinks the iPhone is a BlackBerry.
Rumoured iPad mini specs include a smaller, iPhone 5-style connector, flanked by speakers, and possibly front and rear cameras.
The recently launched Amazon Kindle Fire HD 7in is £159, while the iPad 2 sells for £329. iPad mini price is tipped to be somewhere between the two. We’re thinking £250 would do the trick.
Just yesterday, we were saying that iPad mini launch invites are expected to appear in inboxes on October 10 (a week today), with the launch taking place a week later. Stay tuned.
