Max Payne Mobile blasts its way onto Android today, not for everyone

Max Payne Mobile blasts its way onto Android today, not for everyoneRockstar Games' Max Payne Mobile has been kicking it on the App Store for a couple of months now, and today it finally arrives on Google Play.

However, before you go getting all hot and bothered and eager to shoot baddies in the face in Bullet Time, there are a number of weighty prerequisites.

Firstly, to run Max Payne Mobile, you’ll need Froyo (Android 2.2) or above. That’s not too much of a problem, and only rules out around 6% of users stuck on Eclair (Android 2.1) or below.

You’ll also need a whopping 1.33GB of space to download Max Payne Mobile. It’s pretty big, man. (That’s what she said)

Finally, your Android smartphone – or tablet – must appear on a list of elite, high-end Android devices, including the likes of the Asus Transformer Prime, Motorola Razr, HTC One X, Samsung Galaxy Note and Sony Tablet S.

Oh, and you’ll also need a spare £2.32. Phew.

If you meet all of those Max Payne Mobile requirements, well, have fun!

Doesn't the elite list part rule out any 2.1 devices anyway?

where did you get the price from? it's £1.99 on my gnex.

On my laptop. Definitely £2.32...

Google Play

Does it include VAT krog mate... ive noticed that play doesn't add vat till later.

£2.32 here, too.

Not VAT though, as £1.99 x 1.2 = £2.39...odd.

In true HUKD style, here's a picture to prove the price.

(Please note the use of good old Windows XP ;)).

Pah. BUY IT MATT LIKE ME ;) another win for android over windows phone lol.

matt101101 / MOD  Jun. 14, 2012 at 19:36

You've actually bought it? Is it actually worth £2.32? Buying an entire, working PC for £8.50 has kinda put my needless money wasting into perspective...and made my OH's nagging about said money wasting seem a lot more valid (though I'd never tell her that ;)).

Treab  Jun. 14, 2012 at 20:01

It works really well. (even im shocked by that usually fps's are carp)

add in fuel 1gb drr ram. a screen keyboard mouse and its hardly 8.50

matt101101 / MOD  Jun. 14, 2012 at 20:14

Yeah...but none of that stuff cost me anything, it was all just sitting around in a box in one of my wardrobes (bar the RAM which I took out of a PC which is beyond economical repair).

Treab  Jun. 14, 2012 at 20:19

True. but if you didn't have it it coulda been a bit pricey ;)

matt101101 / MOD  Jun. 14, 2012 at 20:29

Well, if you look at it that way, buying a microwave for my kitchen would be pricey, if I didn't already have a house to put it in ;).

Treab  Jun. 14, 2012 at 20:38

Hardly a comparison... :p you dont need a house to run a microwave just a plug socket :p

I wouldn't fancy running my microwave in the rain from a generator ;).

I'VE FOUND SOMETHING!

Ok, it's not that exciting. My sub-£10 PC has a sleep mode like when you close a laptop lid. SSD what ;)?

Even if this was available on Windows phone, it'll cost more than double that price. :(

Pondlife  Jun. 15, 2012 at 15:10

Doubt there's a wp that could run it yet. Just finding that much storage could be a challenge.

Funny that it could take 3 months to download it solely on a capped 500mb/month 3g connection.

Lumia 710 and above hardware will manage it smoothly, others below that may struggle tho.

Well just delete some music and video and move them to the cloud, sorted for extra space. :p

Can't it be downloaded via Wifi anyway?

Pondlife  Jun. 15, 2012 at 20:18

I would think so, just thought it was a nice image, someone waiting 3m to download it.
