What's the measure of a good display?

What's the measure of a good display - DPI or resolution? Or a combination of both?!

DPI, resolution, screen size, aspect ratio, viewing angles, colour reproduction, screen clarity, sub-pixel arrangement, screen technology, personal opinion, how good your eyes are.

Basically, just go and look at whatever display your looking at buying, in real life. Only you can tell if you like a display or not.

Resolution is actually very deceiving and for all intents and purposes, I'd ignore it. Look at the DPI for a *rough* idea of clarity. You then have different technologies that has different weaknesses and strengths (ie blacks deeper on AMOLED and whites brighter on IPS) but as Matt said, stats now mean practically nothing and hands on experience is the only real gauge now
