Meet Wareable.com: our spanking new wearable tech-focused sister site

Meet Wareable.com: our spanking new wearable tech-focused sister siteThe industry consensus is that wearable tech (including Google Glass, the Oculus Rift and smartwatches like the Motorola Moto 360) is the Next Big Thing, so what we’re praying for is a group of frighteningly experienced and suitably passionate guys to come along and tell us, well, everything we need to know.

Our prayers have been answered with the birth of Wareable.com, sister site to Dealspwn (home of delicious video game goodness) and of course Mobot (I won't link you since you're already here). Welcome!

Launched just hours ago (the astute among you might’ve noticed the handy link on the right), Wareable.com is already chock full of content, and instantly wins my affection with a feature including Tom Cruise/Minority Report: The most iconic movie wearables ever. YES.

Between them, Paul, James and Dan (Editor in chief, Senior editor and Features editor respectively) have a wealth of experience, encompassing MSN Tech, TechRadar, T3, Pocket-lint and the Beeb. I think it’s fair to say you’re in safe hands.

Speaking of hands, the guys have been inappropriately touching Mobot and contemplating how to build upon what we’re doing here, while Dealspwn completes the tech-focused trio. Expect exciting changes in the coming months.

In the meantime, head over to Wareable.com and get caught up with all things wearable tech.

Paul, James and Dan all 3 are/is really me... I tell ya - multitasking IS getting to me :p

have been inappropriately touching Mobot and contemplating how to build upon what we’re doing here Clearly they are old enough to know, you just can't teach cynicism?

Also: I am oddly available for £10/hr ;) *wink*

contemplating how to build upon what we’re doing here...contemplating how to build upon what we’re doing here
Any word on what those changes might be? I can be emailed, as I assume you're not permitted to speak of such changes on a public forum.

Voluntary mods will have to pay a monthly fee to continue :p
Effective from 2010!

Nah, I have no idea what Lewis is on about!

I've barely done any "mod'ing" over the last month or so, ever since I've been unable to log into Mobot on my browser of choice, both on desktop and mobile.

Yeah, I'm sorry about that. I know Emma knows and she knows that I know and that you know that she knows....

Hey, I cannot port to O2 Ireland, because for some freakish reason NO Irish O2 prepay device can handle mobot's login thingy... I think my problem beats yours :p
I'd save 50% on data!

To say something that is actually on topic:

Whatever I may think about 'wearables' - in 5-10 years... maybe 15, they will rule.
We will no longer think of them as accessories. They will become the main communications tool, and things that are now the 'main things' will be the accessory.
Miniaturization will not stop. And instead of an oh so cool Gorilla Glassed AMOLED screen, we will uncrumple a piece of smart-paper to display content...

There'll be hundreds of other 'applications'...
The battery issues will be overcome by 'wirless' charging left and right...

And I'll be old and I'll watch Frasier on sellotaped VHS cassettes... But yep...
