As far as the western world is concerned, Meizu is a bit of an urban legend, a mythical Chinese manufacturer with a penchant for releasing high-spec phones at wallet-friendly price points. Presence in the UK: zero.
But hey! We likes to write about them regardless, and here we’re told that the elusive Meizu MX4 Pro has been pushed back till after Halloween.
The Meizu MX4 Pro was originally tipped to arrive alongside the plain old MX4 in September, but obviously failed to materialise.
More recently we were told to expect an October 28 MX4 Pro launch, but now – according to sources in China crediting a Meizu exec – it’s slipped back to November.
Previous rumours have promised Meizu MX4 Pro specs including a 5.4in QHD display, octo-core Exynos 5430 processor, 3GB of RAM, and a 20MP rear camera (probably the same Sony-made camera that features in the Meizu MX4).
Arguably the most interesting Meizu MX4 Pro spec, however, is its 13MP front camera. Yep, that’s front camera, same as the spanking new HTC Desire Eye. Just beaten to the punch.
Ooh, and a picture-based leak suggests the Meizu MX4 Pro might run Ubuntu Touch. Interdasting.
And that’s the Meizu MX4 Pro. For now. Full story in November, and probably some more leaky stuff in the meantime.
