No mention of Apple in Samsung’s Super Bowl ad

No mention of Apple in Samsung’s Super Bowl adNot to be outdone by RIM’s Super Bowl antics, Samsung snapped up some super-expensive ad time as the Baltimore Ravens (led by former murder suspect Ray Lewis) spanked Colin Kaepernick and the 49ers.

While sticking with the “Next Big Thing” shtick, there was not a single mention of the South Koreans’ biggest rival.

Just over a year ago, Samsung debuted its Galaxy S II ad, not-so-subtly labeling Apple fans as pretentious, supposedly-arty types, willing to queue for hours for the latest iDevice.

Admittedly, “Dude, you’re a barista” made us laugh, but a couple of months later, when Apple fans were being “Samsunged”, we proposed that it might be time to change tack.

It’s with great relief, then, that Samsung’s Super Bowl ad doesn’t make a single mention of Team Cupertino, instead focusing on the antics of Seth Rogen and the brilliant Paul Rudd.

In addition, playing the role of the Samsung marketing guy, is Bob Odenkirk, best known for portraying Saul in the excellent Breaking Bad.

You know what? Rather than me explaining what goes down in the 2-minute piece, how about I just hook you up with a YouTube link? Ready? Right here, baby.
