Can a micro-SIM be cut down to make a nano-SIM?

Is it possible to cut a micro-SIM down to nano-SIM size? (for the iPhone 5)

It can only be done to SIMs with the newer, smaller gold contact area.

It's thinner not just smaller area so not easily and could be a good way to get a badly cut down possibly non functional sim card wedged into the slot.
Have seen guides to doing it but wouldn't recommend it at all.

Interesting. Thanks. Another reason to pass. For now. I 'need' to be able to swap sims between phones easily.

Well you can get adaptors to take them back to micro and mini sims already

Well you can get adaptors to take them back to micro and mini sims already you mean nano? Wonder how well an adapter for normal-to-micro-to-nano works?

Ask your Pre 3...

I can't imagine the problem lessens when you're adapting over two SIM card stages.

No I meant take the nano back to micro and mini size/fit using adaptors. So if you got a nano sim it would be possible to use all three.
I'm guessing they don't use two adaptors together to get all the way back to mini but rather one for each but unsure. Not even been near a phone shop in days.

The fact that's unusual to you shows you're a true techie :p.
