Microsoft officially revealed Windows 8 at its Build conference this week (more on this a wee bit later), and lucky attendees received a nice little present in the form of a limited edition device.
A whopping 5,000 Samsung Windows 8 tablets (or PCs, as Microsoft insists on calling them) were dished out to celebrate the unveiling of Microsoft’s latest OS.
The Samsung Windows 8 tablet comes with a generous 11.6in 1366 x 768 Super PLS display, 1.6GHz dual-core Intel i5 processor, 64GB storage and 4GB RAM.
There’s also a host of ports in the form of USB, Micro USB and HDMI, and a dock that supports a mouse and keyboard.
Impressed? Well, don’t get too excited just yet. Chances are these bad boys won’t make it to market, not in their current form anyway. Developers will be using this batch of 5,000 to test Windows 8 (with a year of free mobile data, incidentally) and start creating apps for the platform.
Stay tuned for more Windows 8 action.
